Mic Won T Work On Calls Iphone 5

Hi, I have an iPhone 5 and I have just started getting the problem that on calls I cannot be heard. If I put it on speakerphone it’s fine but as normal it won’t work. I have tested the mic on voice memos and that works fine? What could be causing this? Thanks

@sollymolly before thinknig about repalcing any IC’s I’d recommend that you first clean the “microphone grille” next to the headphone jack. If that does not work, replace your lightning port assembly, since it includes on of the three mics. Most likely the one that has failed on your phone.
