Hi, I replaced my screen on my nexus 5 and now the microphone is not working when making calls! When I click the mic on google now it says unable to open microphone. When I make a call on speaker phone the caller can hear me fine. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Jamie

You need to apply some pressure in proper place to mic cable contact. Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8XpdqOf… In my case, a thick 2-side tape helped me out with up side not peeled.

If anyone has this issue again I found a fix. So this happened to me and after taking it apart again a couple of times I noticed the plastic wedges at the top and bottom you remove have a small hole with a channel through. I guess I put one back in upside down blocking the sound to the microphone. Put it back together again and it works like new!

Hi Everyone, I also face same problem as you all, recently i get solution for it.

  1. Open back cover of nexus5
  2. Put some thik paper above battery though the distance between vibrator of back cover and bettery is increase and vibrator not touch to mother board bettery. these problem may arise because of vibrator touch to the mother board.. I have personally experience to solve it. Thanks, Yogesh Patil
