I’ve owned a Blue Microphones Snowball iCE (white edition) and since last year it hasnt been picking up any sound. I’ve switched the cabel out but that wasnt the problem. It lights up and if i mess with the cabel it will work for a certain amount of time but i need a permanent fix .

So replacing it sound like a good idea.

There’s probably a loose connection somewhere. I would try to open it up and see if there is anything obvious. Might be a solder point of a loose wire that needs to be soldered back together.

For anyone who may reading this, if you are experiencing static noises that start low and then get louder and louder or just stay constant, the fix may be the connector the wires going into inside the device. I just opened my device to find that the wires leading from the external USB connector had two loose wires that required me to bend the wire connector back out and then to push back into the slot to get a solid connector and for it to be secured.

When I moved those two connectors to have poor connection I achieved static that was loud or quiet. Once I securely connected and ensured there was a connection via a multi-meter, I noticed that the static was gone and my mic worked properly.

If you’re finding that shaking your microphone or moving it around in any significant way means it suddenly starts to work, this may be the issue you are facing.
