I want to do a home replacement of a Samsung S8 glass. I’ve searched the internet to buy a molybdenum wire to separate the glass from the lcd but i don’t know what thickness to buy and what is the difference between them. I see they are from 0.03 to 0.1 thickness. Can someone tell me what’s the catch ? Thanks !
Listen, I know you see all these guides online on how to DIY glass only repairs on these phones, but all I have to say is you can’t do them. You need a lot of practice and quite a lot of skill to perform that repair. That’s why repair shops replace the whole display and don’t offer glass only repairs, which is why it makes them that much more expensive. The OLED panels in these phones is extremely thin and extremely fragile. If you apply pressure in the slightest way you’ll end up with a black spot in the display. Just do yourself a favor, and order a whole screen assembly.
0.03mm Molybdenum Wire For Curved Screen 0.05mm Molybdenum Wire Universal 0.08mm Molybdenum Wire For Flat Screen Thinner the wire the easier it breaks and faster it will slice through your finger heat 90c and use OCA glue removal and your good to go Do Not Use a hot air gun you will just burn the LCD , find someone with a 3d printer and borrow their heated bed most shops just keep the LCD and remove the glass in off periods then resell as a B grade screens to the next sucker latter on time is money if you were prepared to buy a new screen no hurt in attempting to replace the glass ~10% chance of success
