I have a pretty old monitor, BenQ FP93GX, about 10-15 years old. Two years ago, the screen started gradually getting fuzzier on one side and eventually became scrambled and then black. I opened it up to find a dozen bad capacitors on the power board. Replaced them all and it worked like brand new. Fast forward to now and it’s black again (this time it was sudden, not gradual). The capacitors look fine. The cable is fine. The monitor powers up fine (the status LED even switches from green to orange when the DVI cable is pulled), but there’s no image. What should I check next? Blown fuse? Voltage regulator?
Hi @adamncsu2 Seems like a problem with the inverter section of the power board, that supplies power to the backlight CCFL tube. Here’s the service manual for the monitor that may help. It may be easier to replace the power board. See item #23 in the parts list on p.48 of the manual to find the board number and search online for that number.
