The monitor wont stay on when opened
joannjarrell242 exactly what happens? Does it totally shut off? do you just lose the picture and it turns black? When your screen is black shine a flashlight at an angle against the screen and see if you can make out shapes silhouettes etrc. This could be a backlight issue. Start by connecting an external monitor and see if that stays on.
