Hello. The device is not listed. As stated, the cursor gets stuck at the upper edge of the screen. Even when I rotate the screen, its still stuck on that same edge. It may sporadically move downwards, but rarely. I’ve reinstalled the OS (using xp) and tried different drivers. This has occured in several computers. Ive looked for grime and what not under the edge, bad cables and other things. No success. Any ideas?
Hi, What is the make and model number of the laptop? I had a similar problem once with a laptop, the cursor would move to the top right hand corner of the screen and stay there until movement of the laptop made it work again for a while anyway. In the end I placed a piece of thin insulating material under the trackpad, between it and the motherboard, as I suspected that the trackpad was shorting out to the motherboard by being pressed down when being used. I cut a big enough square piece out of an old plastic anti static bag that once held a pc board that I had bought. Once the trackpad was electrically isolated (insulated?) from the motherboard, the problem stopped. Just a thought.
