I bought this laptop back in 2016 and it still has enough power for the work I put it through. The problems it has are battery is completely dead, few keys on the keyboards are not working properly, the hinge is coming apart, the touch of the display is glitching and charger port is a bit loose. Now as the laptop is still functional and enough for my use, and I am also concerned about the e-waste I might be putting out there, is it worth it to resuscitate this laptop or should I just buy a new one?

All of those issues are repairable. On the other hand. It doesn’t sound like your laptop got that way over night. It all comes down to your skill level in repairing. It sounds like there are some disassembly, parts replacement and soldering involved in the repairs you need. There are e-waste recycling centers. Check with your local County. Mine has an e-waste recycling program.

Hi @sg132 , A 2016 model is not that old and is worth repairing. Perhaps though if you do some research first as to the cost of replacing the parts then it may come down to deciding whether it is economically viable to restore the laptop or get a replacement laptop with better specifications than what you have now for maybe only a bit more. If you decide to repair then here’s a link to the service manaul for the laptop, taken from this webpage This will help you do dis-assemble the laptop so that the faulty components can be replaced. Replacement parts should be available online so either search for Dell Inspiron 7559 (insert part name) or find the part number on the faulty major components such as the battery, the LCD screen assembly or the keyboard etc and search using the part number only to find suppliers.
