My 2011 42” has the same issue, so im hoping to see some results on here. Im nowhere near as skilled to do all the diagnosis you guys do, but i could probably learn. I really love my plasma and all the still awesome advantages the tech still offers today,and would love to one day be able to get it to work again. In my case though i actually experienced the moment it failed. In my circumstances i always multiple times a day used the physical button on the side to turn the tv on and off. One day as im turning it on i hear this little pop noise and.. it was just dead. No picture or sound and completely unresponsive to the remote. I can still hear the noises in the tv when i plug the power in, but heres the weird part. Like i mentioned with the amount of times ive used the physical power button, directly after it failed the power button has a completely different feeling to it. No longer a nice firm press but now it wiggles and feels all spongy. Call me crazy but maybe 1 of you can give some feedback on that ? I managed a hard reset but still no picture and the led is solid red.
Just pop it open and see if the power button is broken. May be you can get a ‘all in one remote’ and avoid using physical power button
