Bassicly i was sitting down for a cup of tea with my Mac and I spilt it onto my keyboard. I have got it all out pretty much and everything works but, the keyboard backlight is very dim even at max keyboard brightness.

You have damaged the keyboard backlight unit which is likely not worth repairing given the cost of the part and amount of work needed. MacBook Air 13" (A2337, Late 2020) Upper Case with Keyboard you’ll need to strip down the system to swap out the assembly. Even if you try to patch the backlight plate it’s requires even more work.
