Hi @plane53 , Check that the cannister is empty and not clogged and that the filter is clean so that the motor will get good airflow through it. If it gets too hot it could automatically be turned off by a thermal cut off switch in the motor to prevent the motor from burning out. Wait until the motor has cooled down and then see if it works OK.

Look at your motor ‘s carbon.. i Ve just disassemble my dyson, smell like burn , but it’s broke carbon powder.

ive had the same situation before with my parents theres a band somewhere it must have damaged or is needing replacement
