The tv turns on for a second and the picture dissolves, backlight and sound remain. What component should I replace? Tcon or mainboard. Is it something more serious like a panel issue? Video of it: https://youtu.be/ooredd1iFs4
Hi @zac827 , What is the model number of the TV? It doesn’t appear to be a tcon problem as the logo shows up OK. the tcon translates the video signals between the mainboard and the panel. If it were faulty the logo wouldn’t show up every time, time after time Have you tried different input types e.g. HDMI, Component video, AV, co-ax etc just to check if it is related to a particular type of input? Try Component or AV if possible as these are analogue signals and use a slightly different section of the mainboard i.e. not the digital signal processor Have you tried different input sources e.g. dvd player in case the problem is with the source of the signal. If still no good it may be a mainboard problem as there is no video signal from the source but there is from the firmware (logo) or perhaps it’s a firmware problem which is the same thing as the firmware is located on the mainboard. Although with Hisense you can install the firmware via USB if you have the firmware and the TV remote control is still communicating OK with the TV. You have to contact Hisense to get it though as it is not available online for download. How old is the TV?
