My iPhone 5 fell in water and I got it fixed. As of right now my phone screen is very unresponsive and rarely works and if it does work it is very frustrating to use. The only way it works properly is when it charging. I also have tried about a 100 times to restart my phone and even hard resetting it, and it hasn’t worked. What do I do?
You said when you plug in your phone The touch works right? In this case all you need to do is a battery replacement. iPhone 5 Battery If this wouldn’t be the issue it wouldn’t be worth it to fix the phone it would be cheaper to buy a new one.
You said your phone was dropped in water. How long from the time it was dropped to the time you had it fixed? Water damage repair has to be done a quickly as possible otherwise corrosion starts and can lead to all sorts of problems. Typically when we get devices that have been dropped in water we have to replace the screen. Did you get a new screen put on? That part that worries me a little is that it works fine when you have it plugged in. Batteries also tend to need to be replaced after being dropped in water. From past experience, Apple products do act funny when they have bad batteries. I would see if a local repair shop could test on of their batteries in your phone first to see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn’t then you likely have some other issues that need to be addressed.
