I have had this laptop since Christmas when my cousin gave me her old laptop. I do not have access to this laptop for a week since it is at my other home but I want to figure out the issue. After looking online it looks like 2 things … The logic board isn’t working correctly which would be very expensive to fix at AppleI think, I could go into recovery mode. I need some help to figure out the best thing for me to do?

Let’s see if you can still boot up using the Option key when you restart your system. That will get you to the Startup Manager do you see your drive listed? If you do use the arrow keys to select it, does your system boot up properly? Reference: Mac startup key combinations If not we’ll need to go into recovery mode using the Command (⌘) and R keys.
