Hey, so my laptop has stopped charging after 3 years. I tried a different power cable but that’s all. The problem could be anywhere form the power pack down. I’ve never had any issues like this before so I have no idea what it could be. Should I try to fix it myself? Don’t really want to spend 200 euro to repair something that cost me 800

Check the AC adapter brick and verify that any removable cords are fully inserted. Make sure the battery is properly seated in its compartment, and that there is nothing wrong with either the battery or laptop contact points. There are also some basic troubleshooting steps you can follow. Otherwise remove the battery completely from the laptop and try running the laptop using the AC adapter. If you can use the computer for a couple of hours without problems, the adapter is obviously okay. Clean the battery contacts. Replace the battery and try charging it again.

Check the connector and the jack. If the pins are no longer sticking out enough to “grip” when inserted - (maybe) all you need to do is bend them a bit so they provide the holding power they used to - when everything was new.

It’s probably the charger l bought a charger off ebay for my laptop and I thought the laptop was broke but it wasnt broke something was wrong with my charger.
