For several weeks we’d been having intermittent problems:(1) First was that it would not power on after being fully powered off. (We turn off the power strip that controls our cable box and peripherals every night). We fixed that problem by NOT fully powering off the tv, but letting it stay in standby mode. (2) Next we started to experience intermittent ‘hiccups’ when the power would cycle briefly while watching/streaming, etc. Perhaps once ever hour or so. (3) Last night, it flickered and went black and I saw smoke coming from the bottom. Here are some pix after I removed the back; I hope they are hi res enough to see. entire back:

I don’t see anything out of the ordinary, except the oily substance that must have been the cause of the smoke. But I can’t see what the source is, but maybe you experts will see something! Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can offer.

janet yes, absolutely can you fix this yourself. Going by your symptoms prior to the “smoke out” it appears as if this is related to failed components on your power board (most likely). We would have to see more. Remove the cover from the back of your TV and take some good pictures of your TV’s boards. Post those with your question so we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question Here is the disassembly guide for your TV (different listed model but should be the same chassis as yours). Of course, unplug it and try not touch the components until they are discharged. 49uk6300pue Disasssembly

First measure diode value of all diode that form fully bridge rectifier to know if are shorted to ground or not then go to capacitors, transformer In short measure all component related to main power supply or try to sense burning smell by smelling some components
