Chosen Solution
So basically one day I was using my iMac when all of a sudden the screen went black. I assumed it went to sleep because I was on my phone looking something up. But then it wouldn’t turn on. I tried everything and nothing was working. After awhile it finally turned on because I unplugged the power adapter and plugged it back in. But it happened again and absolutely nothing will work now, and to get help from Apple I need the serial number but I cannot get the serial number because the iMac will not turn on and I do not know what to do. Because when I press the power button on the back of it I hear the fan turn on but then it stops and turns on again and then stops continuously. Can someone help me
Are you up to fixing your system your self? take the time to review the iFixit guides here iMac Intel 27" EMC 2309 & 2374. In addition review the iMac Intel 27" EMC 2309 & 2374 Troubleshooting and Repair section for additional troubleshooting documentation. Your issue is likely a blown power supply, logic board or GPU card.
