Me and my friend were sending voice messages back and forth on Snapchat but she said that there were weird sounds on one of them, I went back and it sounded like a silly voice changer was added onto it. I tried to send another voice message after that and it didn’t record anything. I thought it was the app but when I tried to call my mom it was doing the same thing, I can’t record any audio on anything. I’ve reset my device three times and still nothing. If I’m watching YouTube or TikTok or just listening to someone’s voice message on Snapchat, I can hear that perfectly fine but my phone itself won’t record anything.
More than likely the audio ic chip failed. iPhone 7s are notorious for this chip failing which causes all microphones to not work I would check with a repair shop usually priced around 100 dollars.
