I ended up picking it up with the owner saying awhile ago they were playing sims when it just shut off. i opened it up to take a look around and i noticed when i plug the charger in you can smell a smoke smell from where the port is. could the i/o board be the issue or could it be something else to why it wont boot up.
If you smell smoke you will want to immediately turn the device off and disconnect the battery. You’re going to want to make sure that there are no burn marks on either of the boards or any components. I would also inspect inside the ports to make sure that there are no burn marks there either. I would also upload your findings here if you find anything.
