Chosen Solution

I have the original black Xbox one and every 5 minutes or so, the Xbox will disconnect from the controller. The only way to solve it that I have found is to restart the Xbox completely. I have tried this with many different controllers and it does the same thing, this leads me to believe that it is the Xbox that isn’t working. Thanks!

When you open the xbox plastic case you will find a Network Interface Card(NIC) on the top of the xbox that has a little black cable running from it to the board behind the face of the xbox. That cable is your antenna. I have found that the cable will come undone due to being poorly crimped togther. There are plenty of how to open videos on youtube. Once open, check the cable and fix. If it is fine and connected, then your NIC is going bad. Luckily the NIC is held on with two screws and it plugged into a port. Remove the screws and carefully pull the little card off and replace. If that doesn’t solve the issue you may just need to replace the entire system. Best of luck!
