I have a about 7 years old Win 8.1 64bitGaming PC With a Asus H81M-Plus Motherboard Intel I5 4460 Gygabyte Geforce GTX 750 TI 8 Gig of ram. Some time Ago I cleaned my PC meaning getting the dust out of the fans and for that I did removed the Grafics card. Then the PC was working just fine for some time. But after a while the PC would just go out and on again. I can do “normal” stuff just fine. But when playing games it happens. Before the shut down the sound will get distorted. Then the screen will get black and like a second later the pc goes down and on again. At first I thought it is the PSU so I got a new one but that did not help. All the fans are running and my pc shows 30-35°C on the CPU temp. I don’t have any way to measure the Grafics card temp though. I used a tool called “intel processor diagnostic tool” that is supposed to show CPU failure but that Program said that pretty much all is ok. Thought My guess at this point is that it is the CPU because I can play games like (classic) WOW relatively fine as long as I don’t run into a major city or run any other programs parallel. Other games did also work fine. However running an emulator (that does not use the grafics card but only uses CPU) shuts down the PC pretty fast. Also Phantasy star online 2 shut it down so fast I could not even get through the character creation. My other guess is that the Motherboard is maybe damaged. Because the sound issues makes me think there is something wrong there. But I am not sure. Unfortunately due do covid my financials got hit pretty hard. Buying the new PSU was already taxing for me. And I can’t afford to just randomly buy CPUs and Motherboards so I need fix it with my next purchase. So if anyone can help me figure out where exactly the problem could be, I would be very than full.
