My phone fell down. Although it has no cracks somehow the screen flickers every time I lock the phone and unlock it again. However it works completely fine after a reboot but again if I lock it the same problem arises. I have tried wiping the cache and it did not help.
Hi @mahak_14 , When you go to lock the phone try gently pressing the power button without holding onto the frame too tightly if possible. Just wondering if you have a loose LCD flex cable connection to the system board due to the fall. The flex cable connection is just down from where the Power button is located and I was thinking that when you pressed the Power button perhaps pressure was being applied to the frame which affects the cable etc. If you determine that this may be a possibility here’s a link to the ifixit Samsung Galaxy S8 Screen Replacement guide which should help in gaining access so that the flex cable connection can be inspected. If it appears to be OK then I think that the problem will be a faulty screen due to the fall. To prove it is either a software or a hardware problem, perform a factory reset (after you have backed up the phone of course - you can restore it using the backup afterwards) and if that still doesn’t resolve the problem, replace the screen.
