Awhile ago, my friend cracked my phone. It cracked on the left side of the phone. I haven’t dropped it since aside on my couch, bed, or rug. However, last Tuesday, my phone all of a sudden started showing lines but after force restarting my phone- it was alright. It began messing up even more but I slowly became accustomed. In order to fix my screen when the lines showed up or the screen cut out, I had to tap the upper right corner to fix to bring it back. Today though, it took a turn for the worse. Now the screen won’t turn on no matter how hard I touch the corner. I can tell it’s still one though cause it lights up. Help? I don’t have much experience with this stuff and I’m 8th grade. So can anyone tell me everything know about this? (Cost efficiency, what I have to repair, what’s wrong with it, the cheapest place to repair it, etc.)
Most likely your lcd cable is either loose or full led screen has slowly gone out and needs replacing(we see this all the time in my store). When you were pushing the top corner you most likely were pushing the lcd cable in and making contact with the lcd connector on the motherboard. Honestly I would prepare to replace the full screen/lcd assembly. Here’s the thing, please do not try this repair yourself or go for the cheapest solution(let a friend do it with little to no experience). Big reason for this is on the 5s especially if you don’t place the top 4 screws that hold the emi shield over the digitizer, lcd and front camera cables in correctly you can do permanent damage to the board. I say permanent because few people repair trace damage on motherboards. Most of this probably sounds like a foreign language:) I would google a reputable store in your area, expect to pay between $80-$100.00 and let them install a new screen. Make sure their using original lcds, not generic OEM and not Chinese copy that could cause problems in the future. Also make sure they have at least a 90 day warranty in my opinion.
